Giving of Your Time, Talents and Treasures

There are many ways to worship; we reflect the generous nature of God by giving of our time and resources. As you are able, consider giving to support the ministry of this local church to its own people and those across the globe.

One of the best ways to participate in the Life and Ministry of Evangelical is by contributing your ideas to the congregation.  God is moving through our church in powerful and exciting ways, and we need to capture the Holy Spirit’s inspiration for His Church now and our future generations.  All glory and praise be to God for how He is preparing His bride for His return.

If you think we, as His bride, can do a better job at being the church in our communities and in the world, then let the work start here and encourage everyone to find their “shoes of the Gospel” and begin their missionary journey right here in the community.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.     Matthew 5:16

In committing to spread the Word and Witness to God’s plan …

  • We occupy a wonderful church that allows us to gather for worship throughout the week.
  • We have an extensive annex that supports fellowship, outreach, education, and administrative efforts.
  • We are able to service the community by offering the building up for great causes like the community’s food pantry – “Sarah’s Pantry”, be an Emergency Relief Site, host Boy Scouts of America, CPR/AED/1st Aid Training, Town of Wright Seniors meetings, and many more.

Our financial gifts through the Church are a response to God’s abundant gifts to us. Ministries flourish at Evangelical because of faithful giving in response to the gifts of God.

God has spoken in Deuteronomy:

Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling or his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God always. But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the LORD your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the LORD will choose to put his  Name is so far away), then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the LORD your God will choose. Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice.               Deuteronomy 14:22-29

We support these efforts through the generous contributions of the members of  Evangelical.  God has given abundantly to the families of Evangelical and in return, His generosity is recognized through the giving of tithes and offerings back to His Church.  In God’s Word, He has even provided instruction on how to deal with the church and one another that finds its members traveling about and often away from home for long stretches of time.  We must remember the Church and send or bring our tithes and/or offerings before we leave or catch up after we return.  It is the responsibility of all of us to remember that even though we may be on vacation or traveling about, the work of the Church goes on.

In gratitude for your own good fortune you must render in return some sacrifice of your life for another.            –Albert Schweitzer

WAYS to GIVE

  • Cash gifts made by check or money order.

Planned gifts include: gift annuities, provisions in a trust, charitable remainder or lead trusts, bequests in a last will and testament, life insurance policies, retirement plans, and life estates in real estate.
  • Gifts of tangible personal property (in-kind donations)
  • Matching Gift Programs
You or your spouse may be employed by a corporation with a matching gift program. If so, your employer will match your gift, doubling its value.

Also: Some corporations will donate to your chosen charity/church through a Volunteer Hours Program.  Ask your employer if they donate if you volunteer hours for your church.
